Hate having your photo taken? That’s exactly why engagement sessions exist. Think of this as your chance to get comfy in front of a professional camera before the wedding day whirlwind. We know first-hand how awkward being photographed can feel so our goal is simple: Make it fun, effortless, and unmistakably you!
Your session should capture the essence of your personalities and relationship. Your love story might unfold on your daily BART commute, along a windswept coastline, in a favorite music venue, or even in a galaxy far, far away. Maybe you want to retrace your first date, revisit the bus stop where it all began, or savor a cozy morning at home with your chatty ragdoll.
Can we bring our pets, props, or costumes?
Yes, they’e absolutely welcome—light sabers, typewriters, and vintage motorcycles included. (Seriously. You wouldn’t be the first!) Nothing is too wild, we promise.
What if we don’t know what we want?
Fresh out of ideas (or trapped in a black hole of decision paralysis)? Don’t worry! We love brainstorming sessions that are entirely you: your humor, your hobbies, your history, and the places that feel like home.
Can we be the stars of our own engagement movie?
If make-believe is your jam, we can invent a playful storyline inspired by your love story, pick the perfect location, and guide you to bring it to life (like we did for Stephanie & Matt’s epic Disneyland adventure). The result? Photos that feel like cinematic stills from your own imaginary movie, starring none other than you two.
Will the photos feel like us?
At the end of it all, you’ll have photos that reflect your relationship and your love for each other in the best way. Beyond marking this special chapter in your lives, they’ll leave you more confident and excited for your wedding day.
What do your engagement sessions include?
Most of our wedding collections include a complimentary session but, if for some reason we can’t photograph your wedding, we’re available for standalone sessions, which start at $500. We have an analog addition, too, if you love the grainy, organic imperfection of film.
Your session includes a private online image gallery—your mission control for social-ready downloads, archival prints, and keepsake selection. Our photobooks make incredible guestbooks and gifts that your loved ones will treasure.
Are destination sessions available?
Got wanderlust? If your dream session lies beyond Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, or the greater Bay Area (like Diana & Andrew’s in Japan), let’s chat! If our schedules align, we may even waive the travel fee. But even if they don’t, we’ll make your session extraordinary wherever your story takes us.
